Capital City Golf Association (CCGA) has been a thriving local golf association for African Americans since the early 1940's.

It was formally incorporated in 1978 by Misters Marvin Douglas, Marion Curry, Lawrence Britton and Roland Hayes.

The purpose of the organization is "to create, promote, and encourage enthusiasm for golf and fellowship among members of the association as well as harmony among all golfers and golfing associations". One of CCGA’s missions is to provide competitive opportunities for minorities and support junior golf in the central Texas area through training and scholarships.

CCGA is also a member of the Texas State Amateur Golf Association (TSAGA) which was established in 1944. TSAGA exists for the purpose of promoting and developing fellowship with competitive amateur golfers throughout the State of Texas. CCGA was one of the early pioneer organizations to help form TSAGA.

CCGA has had the pleasure of hosting many TSAGA events. Most recently, in July of 2004, CCGA hosted the 61st Annual TSAGA State Championships. Over 90 golfers, male and female, and their families came to Austin from all over Texas for three days of competition and fellowship.
